Linda Shadel-Director of Operations
Linda joined PalmettoPride in 2002 as the financial coordinator and was appointed Director of Operations in July 2008. She has extensive expertise in the business world. Linda’s career began in governmental cost accounting and then progressed to operations and ownership of two successful businesses, the first in the floral industry and then a lease brokerage company. She attended Richland TEC, has earned the Beta Sigma Phi Order of the Rose, is a Master Gardener and volunteers at Carolina Wildlife Care in Columbia.
Sandra Bryan-Administrative Assistant
Sandra Bryan is the Administrative Assistant for PalmettoPride. She retired from Bank of America. She attended the University of South Carolina with a Major in Business. She is also a volunteer advocate in the community. Memberships include: Women in Philanthropy, Palmetto Center for Women, Palmetto Health Volunteers in Action, MASCAVA, Honor Flight of SC, Senior Resources 5K Run March for Meals, World Affairs Council, Greater Piedmont Explorer’s Club, FBI Citizens Academy and SC General Assembly Women’s Caucus.
Gene Campbell-Program Manager
Gene Campbell is a program coordinator with PalmettoPride. Gene is responsible for PalmettoPride’s Waste Hauler’s Committee. Along with that, he organizes all aspects of the Statewide Waste Transportation Plan which involves recruiting new participants and serving as liaison for waste hauling companies and the Department of Public Safety. Gene also serves as a liaison to the enforcement community by serving on the Enforcement Committee. He coordinates all aspects of the Camera Loan Program which puts valuable equipment in the hands of law enforcement. He plans cleanups in South Carolina’s national forests and other cleanups as part of the Forest, Parks and Waterways program. Among other responsibilities, he handles any problems that arise with Litter Busters Hotline. Gene served as an intern with PalmettoPride while earning his degree in marketing and management from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.
Debbie Cohea-Financial Coordinator/HR
Debbie started her PalmettoPride adventure in 2002 and is currently the Financial Coordinator/HR. Debbie was Program Coordinator for Prideways, Education, Forest Parks and Waterways, the Waste Hauler’s Committee and she served as the Enforcement Liaison. Her previous job experience was with Merrill Lynch, the Port Huron Museum in Michigan as Education Coordinator and “Pioneer Woman” and she proudly served in the United States Navy. Debbie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, is an artist and plays cello and trumpet.
Jennifer Fisher- Director of Marketing
Jennifer began working for PalmettoPride in 2006 and in addition to her duties with marketing, served as Program Manager for Education and the Blitz program from 2006 – 2011. She designs all print material and oversees our website and social media sites. Jennifer received her degree in Marketing from Clemson University and remains active with her Alma Mater by sitting on the Young Alumni Council as well as the Board of the Columbia Clemson Club. Prior to her work with PalmettoPride she worked in mass communications for Cox Radio.
Sherryl Jenkins-Grants Program Manager
Sherryl has been with PalmettoPride for nine years. As the Grants Coordinator, she oversees the management of PalmettoPride’s five different grants: Litter Trashes Everyone Education, Tree, Keep South Carolina Beautiful, Enforcement and Community Pride. In addition to managing the grants program, Ms. Jenkins serves as a liaison to the South Carolina Litter Control Association.
Sarah Lyles-Keep South Carolina Beautiful Director/Public Relations Manager
Sarah has been with PalmettoPride since 2002. She is the state leader for Keep South Carolina Beautiful and, since 2004, she has managed public relations for the organization. She has a Masters in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina. Prior to working with PalmettoPride, she was a communications associate with the United Way of Greenville County and an event coordinator with SC Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. Sarah is also a Master Gardener, a member of the Alter Guild at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and on the PR committee for Keep the Midlands Beautiful.
