Keep America Beautiful, Inc, (KAB) presented top honors to South Carolina affiliates and to Lt. James Nelson, Director of Spartanburg County Environmental Enforcement Agency, at its national conference this week. Lt. Nelson received the Law Enforcement Award for his leadership in Spartanburg County and for his service as a two-term president of the SC Litter Control Association. This award honors those law enforcement professionals who have exceeded the duty requirements expected of their position and have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service in their approaches to enforcement of environmental laws and regulations.

Keep South Carolina Beautiful, the state affiliate of KAB, received the Diamond Level State Affiliate Recognition Award and a President’s Circle Award of Excellence.

The SC Department of Corrections received a State Partnership Award for its role in litter pickup and the PalmettoPride Tree Grant.
