Great American Cleanup

Working with the statewide Keep America Beautiful affiliates is vital to spreading our message into the local communities. The Great American Cleanup has been in place through KAB for many years. The campaign runs every year from March until May. To sign up for this year’s cleanup, fill out this form. Forests, Parks & Waterways Program

PalmettoPride has partnered with the Department of Natural Resources, SCDHEC, the South Carolina Forestry Commission, USDA Forest Service and other forces to pilot the National Parks and Forest Program. It’s designed to heighten enforcement efforts and bring volunteers together to clean up the hundreds of illegal dumpsites in the forests and parks of South Carolina. To build further awareness of the litter problem, Litter Buster Hotline signs are also put in the target sites. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers come together annually to clean up tons of litter from illegal dumpsites in Francis Marion National Forest, Sumter National Forest, Manchester State Forest, and other parks and forests statewide. Commercial Waste Haulers Program

PalmettoPride formed a “Waste Haulers Committee,” and is promoting and receiving a real commitment from the people who “clean up” for a living. Many waste haulers have agreed to put magnets and bumper stickers on their trucks, encouraging people on the road to call the Litter Busters Hotline if waste is not being transported properly.  They’ve also placed new anti-litter signs in their land-fills and convenience centers. Prideways

Developed by PalmettoPride, in partnership with SC Department of Transportation and the SC Department of Corrections, the program encourages businesses, organizations and individuals to sponsor sections of interstates and highways throughout the state by funding inmate clean-up services. Similar to the Adopt-A-Highway program, Prideways allows corporations the opportunity to sponsor their own stretch of interstate segments. Recognition signs are placed along the interstate to identify the companies’ or groups’ efforts. To sponsor your own Prideway, please call 1-877-725-7733.
