Education Programs

PalmettoPride offers a number of educational programs to engage students in helping keep our state clean and how they can be part of the solution.

“Litter Trashes Everyone” Puppet Show

PalmettoPride, along with the Columbia Marionette Theatre, presents “Litter Trashes Everyone“  – a twenty minute educational performance featuring marionettes and hand puppets that conveys the message that every citizen has a responsibility to help keep South Carolina beautiful. The free puppet show is available to all elementary schools in South Carolina and targets children in grades K-5. To book a show at your school, please contact John Scollon by emailing puppetgnomes@msn.com.

PalmettoPride Promise Program

This program is aimed at middle school students to raise awareness of the litter problem in South Carolina. After listening to a presentation given by Miss South Carolina highlighting some of the problems and solutions regarding litter, students take a pledge and promise to assist in the effort to keep South Carolina litter free.

Litter Free Games

Litter Free games is an opportunity for clubs and organizations at the high school level to make their athletic events litter-free, while gaining a chance to win money for their organization. Read more about the program and download your application.  Litter Free games »

Collegiate Stadium Recycling

PalmettoPride and university athletic programs around the state have developed a recycling program at stadiums in an effort to help change the behavior of sports fans. PalmettoPride purchases recycling bins and places them at sporting events to encourage recycling. Our goal is to be present at all universities and colleges reaching sports fans as well as students with the anti-litter message.
