SUMTER NATIONAL FOREST CLEANUP DAY PLANNED
PalmettoPride and the USDA Forest Service Team Up Again to Clean Up
WHAT: PalmettoPride and the USDA Forest Service have planned their annual fall cleanup of the Sumter National Forest. The 2009 fall cleanup will focus on forest land on the Enoree Ranger District in Laurens County. Volunteers are needed to help clean up areas in the forest that contain trash, illegal dumpsites and other debris.
Volunteers need to be dressed appropriately for the weather. Long sleeves, pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. Gloves, safety vests, trash bags and litter grabbers will be provided. Lunch will be served following the cleanup to all volunteers.
WHEN: Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 8 a.m. to noon.
WHERE: Tip Top Hunting Camp, Laurens County
Traveling from I-26, take exit 54.The camp is located 5.2 miles east of I-26 on Hwy 72.
Traveling west, the camp is located 9.5 miles from the Whitmire traffic light on HWY 72.
