PALMETTOPRIDE FUNDS 12 CHALLENGE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT GRANTS
Columbia, SC – PalmettoPride, your anti-litter and beautification organization, announces the 2008 Challenge for the Environment recipients. The PalmettoPride Challenge for the Environment grant is designed to get elementary, middle and/or high school students involved in activities that will educate them and their communities about the importance of keeping their state clean and attractive, while promoting in the next generation a sense of pride in the community. Successful projects will be designed to refurbish the environment and change the attitudes of those who do not value a clean and beautiful environment. Litter abatement and community beautification activities are encouraged. The focus of these activities should involve the following: education, enforcement, awareness, pickup and beautification resulting in behavioral change. The PalmettoPride Grant program is comprised of five grants: the Tree Grant, KSCB Grant, the Challenge for the Environment Grant, the Enforcement Grant and the Community Pride Grant. A list of grant winners follows. For more information, please contact Sarah Robinson at 803-758-6034 or srobinson@palmettopride.org.
