PALMETTOPRIDE SCHOLASTIC ART CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

PalmettoPride has announced its 2010-2011 school art contest winners. The three contests winners competed statewide in three categories: elementary school drawing; middle school recycled art project; and high school video PSA.

Denise Garcia Mesa from Fairfield Elementary School in Spartanburg won first place in the elementary art contest. Her drawing will be the featured design on PalmettoPride t-shirts.

Brandon Jingle from Pelion Middle School in Pelion won first place in the recycled art contest. His recycled robot was created from cardboard, plastic drink bottles and tin cans. His winning piece will be exhibited at EdVenture Children’s Museum in Columbia.

Dalton Caine from Spring Valley High School in Columbia won first place in the video PSA contest. His winning video can be found on PalmettoPride’s YouTube page.

We congratulate all winners and all the students who participated in PalmettoPride’s first statewide art contest. We encourage schools across the state to participate in the art contest next year.  For more information on this contest and all other PalmettoPride education programs, please contact Jennifer Fisher at 877-725-7733 or jfisher@palmettopride.org.
